Amber Cove Rental Prices: Watersports, Zip Line, Cabanas & Pool Amenities
Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic has plenty to do without leaving the cruise port, but not everything inside the destination is free. In addition to the large pool and other facilities, visitors can rent watersports equipment, ride the zip line and waterslide, rent pool amenities, and reserve several types of cabanas.
During our visit to Amber Cove, I photographed the rental pricing board inside the port. The prices below are taken directly from that sign and provide a useful idea of what cruise passengers can expect to pay for activities and rentals at Amber Cove. Prices can change, so use these as a reference rather than a guarantee for a future visit.

Amber Cove Watersports Rental Prices
Several watersports can be rented directly at Amber Cove. The pricing board lists stand-up paddleboards and hydrobikes together under the watersports category.

The posted prices are:
• 30 minutes: $20
• 1 hour: $35
These rentals can be a convenient option for passengers who want an activity without committing to a longer shore excursion away from the cruise port.
Amber Cove Kayak Rental Prices
Kayaks are available for either one or two people, according to the pricing sign.
The posted kayak prices are:
• 30 minutes: $20
• 1 hour: $35
For passengers planning to spend most of their port day at Amber Cove itself, a short kayak rental is one of several ways to add an activity without taking up the entire day.
Amber Cove Solar Catamaran Prices
The rental board also advertises a solar catamaran, with options indicated for one or two people.
Prices shown during our visit were:
• 30 minutes: $40
• 1 hour: $60
This makes the solar catamaran more expensive than the paddleboard, hydrobike, or kayak rentals shown on the same board.
Amber Cove Pedal Boat Prices
Amber Cove also offers several pedal boat configurations.
The sign identifies Aquacycle 2×4 and Water Bee options, with the latter showing configurations for two or four people.
The posted prices are:
• 30 minutes: $25
• 1 hour: $45
An Aquacycle 4×4 option for four people is also shown at the same prices:
• 30 minutes: $25
• 1 hour: $45
For families or groups traveling together, these larger options may be worth considering when comparing activities inside the port.
How Much Is the Amber Cove Zip Line?
The Amber Cove rental pricing board lists unlimited use of the zip line for $30.
That is an important distinction from some of the shore excursions offered from Amber Cove. The $30 price photographed here applies to the attraction at the port itself; it should not be confused with separate zip-line shore excursions elsewhere in the Puerto Plata area.
Amber Cove is a Carnival Corporation-developed cruise destination on the Dominican Republic’s northern coast, and the port was designed with recreational facilities that allow passengers to spend their day there without necessarily booking transportation elsewhere.
How Much Is the Amber Cove Waterslide?
The pricing board lists unlimited waterslide use for $6.
That makes the waterslide one of the least expensive paid activities shown on the board.
The posted price is:
• Unlimited waterslide: $6
Passengers interested primarily in swimming and relaxing around the port can therefore add the waterslide without paying the substantially higher prices associated with some of the watersports or cabana rentals.
Amber Cove Pool Amenities and Rental Prices
Several useful pool amenities can also be rented.
The photographed pricing board lists:
• Umbrella: $22
• Pool float, all day: $12
• Noodles package: $5
• Locker, all day: $6
• Locker deposit, refundable: $6
The locker deposit is specifically identified as refundable on the sign.
These smaller expenses are worth factoring into your port-day budget, particularly if you plan on spending several hours around the Amber Cove pool.
Is Wi-Fi Available at Amber Cove?
The rental board includes an entry for all-day Wi-Fi, but no dollar amount is displayed. Instead, the price area is marked with an X.
Because there is no price shown, we cannot determine from this sign whether Wi-Fi was unavailable, included elsewhere, or handled differently at the time of our visit.
If Wi-Fi is important during your day in Amber Cove, check the current availability and terms after arriving rather than relying on an older posted price.
Amber Cove VIP Packages
VIP packages are also mentioned on the rental board, but there is no fixed price displayed.
The sign simply says “ASK.”
That means passengers interested in a VIP package should inquire directly at Amber Cove for current options, inclusions, availability, and pricing.
Amber Cove Cabana Prices
Cabanas are by far the most expensive rentals shown on the photographed board.
Four different options are listed:
• Hillside Cabana: $500
• Poolside Cabana: $520
• Ocean Cabana: $530
• Grand Cabana: $1,299
These are the prices displayed during our visit and should not be assumed to be the prices for every sailing or travel date.
Carnival currently sells Amber Cove cabanas as shore-excursion products, and current online prices can differ from those shown on this board.
Hillside Cabana
The photographed price for an Amber Cove Hillside Cabana is $500.
Carnival describes its Hillside Cabanas as private spaces positioned above the port with views of the surrounding bay and mountains. Current offerings can include amenities such as air conditioning, a refrigerator, Wi-Fi, seating, and a hot tub.
The exact package and current price should always be checked for your sailing.
Poolside Cabana
The Poolside Cabana is listed at $520 on the photographed rental board.
These cabanas are positioned beside Amber Cove’s pool area, making them particularly convenient for passengers who want to spend most of the day around the pool rather than heading into the ocean or leaving the port.
Ocean Cabana
The Ocean Cabana is shown at $530.
Carnival describes these as overwater cabanas, providing a more private location away from the main pool area. Current Carnival information indicates that these rentals can accommodate groups, but travelers should verify the current capacity and inclusions for their particular sailing before booking.
Grand Cabana
The Grand Cabana is substantially more expensive than the other options.
The price photographed at Amber Cove was:
• Grand Cabana: $1,299
The Grand Cabana is also considerably larger than the standard cabana options. Carnival currently describes it as a 1,000-square-foot overwater bungalow designed for larger groups, with amenities including a refrigerator, deck space, seating, showers and a private hot tub.
Because cabana pricing can vary significantly, passengers interested in one should compare the current price available for their sailing with the posted prices they encounter at the destination.
Do You Need a Shore Excursion to Enjoy Amber Cove?
No. One of the advantages of Amber Cove is that passengers have recreational options directly within the cruise destination.
You can certainly book a shore excursion into Puerto Plata or elsewhere in the Dominican Republic, but that is not required simply to find something to do during the port call.
Amber Cove itself was developed with a large pool area, watersports, shopping, restaurants and bars, along with paid attractions and cabanas.
That makes it particularly convenient for passengers who prefer an easy port day and do not want to spend hours traveling on an organized excursion.
Budgeting for a Day at Amber Cove
How much you spend at Amber Cove will depend heavily on what you want to do.
A passenger interested in only one or two smaller activities could spend relatively little. For example, the photographed prices show the waterslide at $6 and a 30-minute kayak rental at $20.
Costs rise quickly when adding longer watersports rentals or private cabanas.
Before your cruise, decide whether Amber Cove will be primarily a relaxing pool day or an activity-heavy port day. If you are considering a cabana, compare the cost against the number of people in your group and the amenities included with the current reservation.

Conclusion
Amber Cove gives cruise passengers a good range of choices for how much—or how little—they want to spend during their day in the Dominican Republic.
